As far as buddy movies go The Climb might be better described as two life-long friends, turned enemies, turned friends again. Mike and Kyle have a fraught adult relationship. But despite the betrayals and the hurt they cause each other, their friendship remains one of mutual connection and respect. This film is smartly written and executed with a European flare.
A "dramedy" that perfectly suits 2020, The Climb proves that movies on male relationships can go beyond dumb boys comedies like The Hangover or Dumb and Dumber.
